Tony’s 50km Easter Ultra Challenge

CALM Logo

Monthind Clean Director, Tony Felgate, will be taking on the Easter 50 Ultra Challenge on 1st April as part of a fundraising initiative for CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably). Starting and finishing from the Windsor Racecourse basecamp, the route comprises two 25km loops past Windsor Castle, and through Runnymede before running alongside the Thames Path.

As reported by the ONS, 3,899 people in the UK took their own life in 2022, with 75% of these suicides being male. CALM exists with a mission to battle the stigma surrounding mental health and take a stand against suicide and stereotypes. CALM helps to provoke conversation amongst those who require support and struggle with mental health.

About CALM

Launched in 1997, The Department of Health introduced the CALM helpline in Merseyside, Liverpool, marking the start of the charity’s stand against suicide. Originally set up as an NHS pilot, the helpline continued to support those suffering from poor mental health, and eventually evolved into a registered charity in 2006.

Since its initial launch in 1997, the charity’s helpline opens 5 pm-midnight, 365 days a year, and answers a call every 59 seconds. The charity now has over 50 people working behind the scenes delivering life-saving support, events, and campaigns. CALM stands with everybody who is struggling with life no matter who they are, where they’re from, or what they’re going through.
