Case Study: Public Sector Office, Carpet and Window Cleaning
Monthind is contracted to clean the internal and external windows at four sites for Breckland Council in Swaffham, Thetford and two in Dereham, as well as office and carpet cleaning.
So when the exterior of its headquarters, Elizabeth House, and a courtyard in the grounds required cleaning it was a testament to the council’s customer satisfaction that they asked Monthind to carry out the works.
A team of five Monthind Operatives worked in wind and rain to clean the large building, but the end result was a transformation from dirty and dingy to sparkling and shiny. The Breckland Council headquarters are located at Elizabeth House in Dereham.
Built to house the Council’s departments in one cost effective, modern building, the modular construction has enabled the council to make better use of the space available and provide a sustainable working environment for its employees.
Pollution brings modern-day challenges
Elizabeth House is located close to the A47, so fumes from petrol and oil had stained the building and tarnished the windows. Our operatives used Dyma Power and Traffic Film Remover (degreasing chemicals) to remove the residues. Monthind carried out a full wash down to the building cladding and bris soleil, and pressure washed the paving slabs in a courtyard.
Providing a safe environment when working at height
The height of the building warranted working at height risk assessment and equipment. An HR15 access platform supplied by Skyhigh Access Platforms, and a scaffold tower were used. Monthind’s heritage of providing a safe, Health & Safety conscious approach to our work ensures we reduce risk to both our staff and the organisation we are working for. We have IOSH-Accredited managers, NEBOSH General certification, ongoing Health & Safety training, and Contractors Safety Certificate Scheme staff.
Window Cleaning Service
All Elizabeth House’s gutters and windows were cleaned by Monthind’s experienced staff, using environmentally friendly cleaning methods and processes that strictly adhere to our risk assessment and safe systems of work.
